“Farmer Dave” Travieso has been growing vegetables in SW Colorado for over 20 years. As a farmer and a business owner in the 21st century, he strives to be a good stuart to the land.
“The healthiest plants are grown using everything from the farm. We don’t buy soil or fertilizers for our plants. Instead, we grow them using the resources we have on our farm. Our microbial empire we have built in our composts, fertilizers and soils is evidence of how nature works symbiotically to create the strongest plants without the need of toxic fertilizers, amendments or pesticides. Our farming methods are what I like to call, Better-than-Organic. It’s what Nature was doing long before humans.”
Farmer Dave and Peacetree Organix can be found at the Durango Farmer’s Market every Saturday, at the TBK Bank parking lot during the summer months.
